Kauai Sunset on Spouting Horn
Posted by David Chin on June 15th, 2006 in Amazing Nikon D200 Image SamplesA sunset picture with a difference, with the Spouting Horn as the main subject.
I would have had no idea what a Spouting Horn looked like, unless you showed me the image. Location: South shore of Kaua’i, not far from Poipu and Koloa.

Interesting is Brent’s use of High Pass Sharpening in the postprocessing stage. He also comments about his experience with the Tokina 12-24mm f/4 AT-X AF Pro DX lens, saying it is not an admirable performer at the wide end in contrasty scenes, with too much distortion and chromatic aberration.
Equipment used: Nikon D200 + Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM lens at 10mm focal length
