Fantastic Herons with the Nikkor 300mm f/4 AF-S lens

Steve’s photography skills are evident in this series featuring the Yellow-Crowned Night Heron.

Steve Provisor shoots Yellow-crowned Night Heron pics with the D200 + Nikkor 300mm f4 AF-S lens + Nikon TC-17E II for AF-S, AF-I 1.7x Lens Teleconverter

What’s particularly impressive is the sharpness of the shots, some taken at 1/200 sec shutter speed, with obvious help from the use of a monopod. My favourite of the series is the one capturing a heron in the act of swallowing a turtle – nice!
